My Lord

 He has always been there

Since the day that I was born

Carefully watching over me

Through each and every storm

At times, a disobedient child

Willful, proud and vain

But, patiently He waits for me

To come back into the fold

My lesson learned

My heart and soul in pain

But He is always and forever

And will never leave my side

Even when I rush ahead

A wild and reckless ride

He keeps me safe from harm

And carries me when I can't go on

To fill His loving presence

Words just can't describe

To know that He is with you

Wrapping you in loving arms

At times our faith is put to the test

But do we bring this on ourselves

Even then, He does not leave us

And our trials make us stronger

One day, my  journey, it will end

And then my soul will rest
